The Regional Family Services Center will expand relief services to meet basic human needs and produce long term gains by increasing adult economic self-sufficiency and student academic achievement in northwest Hennepin County. Three project partners are collaborating to build a 50,000sf expansion to the local Continuing Education and the Early Childhood and Family Center:Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP), the lead partner, is a community-based charity providing food, clothing, and other assistance to low-wage families, senior citizens, and other vulnerable adults;Osseo Area Schools (ISD 279) is the fifth largest school system in Minnesota and one of the state’s most diverse; Hennepin County Department of Human Services and Public Health is the third project partner.
Results Achieved:Project underway, achieving to date 85% of a $14.5 million capital goal.During 2008 JPR Consulting lead the legislative relations and lobbying effort to secure a $2.0 million grant through a Minnesota capital appropriation; cultivated corporate and individual leadership gifts.
youthrive is the Upper Midwest affiliate of PeaceJam, an international education program founded by 12 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates that provides unique, standards-based, age-appropriate curriculums and program models for youth in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college.In all youthrive programs, young people become local agents of peaceful change through service-learning projects they design and lead to address needs they have identified in their own communities.
Results Achieved:Doubled annual fundraising results four years in a row, from $70,000 to $155,000 to $355,000 to $725,000.Continuing client relationship.
The Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota is the driving force in the state mentoring movement to build and sustain quality mentoring for every child. Results Achieved:Revitalized corporate and foundation grant support and implemented individual giving programs, increasing fundraising results 35%.Continuing client relationship.
Beacon Haven/Clifton House supports proper care and an atmosphere expectant of healing by ensuring that Christian Science Nursing remains available in the Upper Midwest through a Visiting Nurse Service and through Beacon Haven, a professional nursing facility providing care consistent with Christian Science.
Results Achieved:Achieved capital campaign goal, raising $2.8 million to date (more than double the original objective) while also expanding annual giving, special events, and both regional and national constituent communications.Continuing client relationship.
